In this podcast I explore Dale Carnegie’s dictum: “If you want to be interesting, be interested”. Beginning with a therapeutic story we see why it is counterproductive to try to be interesting. Instead we need to really focus on what we find genuinely interesting in others. This is characterised as ‘interpersonal mindfulness’ where the object of the mindfulness is the other person. Finally, we see that being ‘interested’ generally is a very attractive quality in a person.
